During the training course you will plan, prepare, execute and report a OHSAS audit in a team using a realistic case study. With this approach you will be able to gain skills in the planning, preparation and execution of audit interviews and the investigation into documents and records, also gaining knowledge regarding documentation and the organizing and executing of opening meetings. You will learn how to identify, report and present audit findings. A major part of the training course consists of practical exercises and role-play in which we include communication skills, audit-, interview- and sampling techniques and how to formulate clear and unambiguous audit reports.
This training course has been designed based on the relevant requirements of the OHSAS 18001, ISO 19011 and IRCA (International Register of Certificated Auditors). This training course forms a part of the formal qualification process to gain recognition as an Auditor by IRCA. Therefore a continuous assessment and a written exam form an integral part of the training course.
In this training course we will pay attention to the interpretation of the requirements of the OHSAS 18001, including inventory of dangers and assessing risks, the structure and principles of health and safety legislation and preparation of emergency situations. A major part of the training course involves going through all steps of the auditting proces through practical exercises and role play.

- Purpose, principles and interpretation of the OHSAS 18001
- Dangers, risks, risk management and risk-analysis
- Introduction health and safety legislation
- Planning of the OHSAS
- Documentation of the OHSAS
- Regulations for audits (ISO 19011)
- Technical, social and communicative skills
- Auditplanning (Checklists and Programmes)
- Execution of audits (Meetings and Interviews)
- Formulating non-conformities
- Follow-up of non-conformities and verifying corrective actions
- Role of Accreditation Bodies
The duration of this training course is 5 days, without an evening program, and with a maximum of 12 participants.
Target group:
This training course is suitable for (future) auditprofessionals, who are regularly involved in the planning and execution of internal/external audits. For auditors who want to assess consensus with the OHSAS 18001 during audits. For anybody who wants to qualify themselves as an internal and/or external OHSAS auditor.

Practical knowledge of and experience with management systems and the OHSAS 18001. Notion of occupational health and safety aspects and some knowledge of relevant occupational health and safety legislation.
