​Learn about the GFSI benchmark standard SQF directly from Gary Smith, Technical Director for the SQF Institute.

 

Mr. Smith is responsible for the development, implementation, execution and maintenance of the SQF program on a global basis. This includes development of all support documents for the SQF standards in addition to working with all stakeholders executing and utilizing the SQF scheme.

 

The SQF (Safe Quality Food) Institute is a division of the Food Marketing Institute (FMI), established to administer the SQF Program, a leading, global food safety and quality certification and management system. The Program provides independent certification that a supplier's food safety and quality management system complies with international and domestic food safety regulations.

 

Food Marketing Institute (FMI) conducts programs in public affairs, food safety, research, education and industry relations on behalf of its 1,500 member companies - food retailers and wholesalers - in the United States and around the world. FMI's U.S. members operate approximately 26,000 retail food stores and 14,000 pharmacies.
