Food Safety

Incorporating a food or feed safety management system puts you ahead by changing your company’s approach from a reactive to a proactive way of thinking. Consumers demand that what they eat and drink is safe, and they hold retailers responsible for any failures. Food quality, safety and sustainable practices begin at the farm. Retailers therefore need to systematically address food safety in every step – from manufacturing to packaging and transportation – to prevent failures.

Purpose

Implementing an effective food safety management system helps you identify and manage your food safety and quality risks. Certification helps you measure your system against acknowledged and relevant food safety standards and contribute to continual improvement. Wherever you are in the value chain, your efforts will have a positive impact not only on food safety but also environmentally and socially.

Benefits

Retailers want to know that their suppliers deliver products that comply with current quality and safety standards. Certification to these standards demonstrates to retailers and other stakeholders that you work actively to manage your food safety risks and satisfy their requirements. By implementing feed safety management systems, you contribute to ensure food safety throughout the food supply chain. A certificate by an independent third party creates trust and confidence toward your stakeholders.
