Purpose

Expectations towards organizations reducing their direct environmental impacts and influencing supplier environmental performance are growing. Regulations and law enforcement are also getting stricter with customers, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders increasingly demanding demonstration of environmental performance and improvement.
 
Environmental management systems take a systematic approach to minimizing negative impacts on the environment and surrounding community. They provide a framework for an organization to manage its legal compliance and improve environmental performance, including risk and opportunity identification, analysis, target setting, and measurement.
 
ISO 14001 is the most common and globally recognized standard for environmental management systems and is applicable to any organization in any business sector.
 
RC14001 (Responsible Care® 14001) is a Technical Specification which combines the elements of the American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) Responsible Care® initiative with ISO 14001 (International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001:1996 Environmental Management System with Guidance for Use).
 

Process

ISO 14001 An ISO 14001 certificate lets customers know they can trust that you are actively minimizing the environmental impacts of your company’s processes, products, and services. FSC Chain of Custody ​An FSC® Chain of Custody certificate for products proves that the wooden parts of your certified products are possible to trace back to well-managed forests, company controlled sources or recycled material. RC14001 & RCMS ​An RC14001 or RCMS® certificate lets customers know they can trust that you are actively managing your operations and products as well as responding to all stakeholder's concerns.
